.......Our Purpose
Thanks for taking the time to observe our website! The future of our classrooms are up to us, the future
teachers, and thats why we have taken the time to inform you of some of the issues that we face in our elementary classrooms.
Created by three college students at Georgia State University that are majoring in Early Childhood Education, "Taking Back
Our Classrooms" was mainly created to explain some of the risks of too much technology in our classrooms, mainly computers.
Throughout the Fall 2007 semester, we collectively took the time to observe elementary classrooms in three different schools,
to take note of the different challenges that the students face with the technology.
"Taking Back Our Classrooms" was created by three hard working and dedicated college students. Satin Booker,
Whitney Hill, and Jeffery Render would like to become future educators in the elementary school levels. They are currently
working on their Bachelor degrees in Early Childhood Education. Throughtout the course of the website, you will find different
subject areas that correspond to different age groups and also education roles. We hope you find our information very informative
and take the iniative to make a change.
The reason for our study of too much use of mainly computer games in elementary classrooms, comes from our
observations of students not focusing once they are allowed time to use the computer to play educational games.
